Parsec works simply as a screen-sharing technology. You either share your screen with yourself (remotely), with your friends (for co-op), or with gamers around the world (to play your favorite games).
We strive to build the best game streaming technology on the market. In our quest to shave milliseconds, we've built a networking protocol, hardware-specific optimizations, and video encoding for one purpose: game streaming. Learn more about our technology.
We have a nice summary written down for you with info on minimum and recommended specs. You can check it out here.
If you choose to host a game with other people, you need to own the game yourself first to do so. If you don’t own that game, that’s fine — you can always find a variety of games available to play and stream from the community.
We really appreciate you thinking of ways to help us. If you experience any issues using Parsec, we want to know about it, so we can help. If everything is gravy, let us know how we can make your experience better.
Tell your friends about it, share it on social media, join our Discord community.
We are very proud of Parsec capabilities and features. We have worked very hard to get ultra-low latency stream at 60 FPS, virtual controller management for any number of players, and a highly dynamic bandwidth algorithm. We've done everything to make local co-op games feel native, even when you're hundreds of miles away from your friends.
A host is defined by the computer/system hosting or sharing the game. The host handles the game being played and the players connected to it through the internet.
The client(s) are the other computers/systems connected to the host.
Think about hosting is like sharing your living room couch for people to interact, watch and play with you. A good host is someone who host parties with their friends or with people from the community. A good host needs a good internet connection (at least 10Mbs per user connected), a moderately modern graphics card and a windows computer.
At Parsec, we take security very seriously. The only programs and applications others have access to are the ones you individually choose to give them access to. Learn more about security.
We're looking to sponsor videos that reach new audiences and show off the power of Parsec. If you're interested in working with us, reach out here.
